Beautifully made, with a ribbed sliding lid in the Gustavian Tradition and with exposed dovetail construction, this box would have been made to commission to hold a brides bonnet, ribbons and lacework from her Wedding outfit. Initialed and dated for the occasion in excellent original Rosemaling decoration, on an exceptional blue ground, this example is in fine condition and retains great colouring.
