A lovely working farmhouse dining table with a beautiful and broad solid pine plank top. Generally farmhouse tables of this type were used in the preparation of meals, as well as for working dairy produce and preserved foods as part of daily farm life and also for eating meals around. This regular and varied use often creates great character to the surface of the timber, where s has been frequently cleaned and scrubbed and developed a unique patination, as in the present example. The jointed and tenon end frame base is raised on splayed turned legs which retain historic painted surface, the fine top benefits from a generous overhang at both ends. A stylish and functional table of great character.
