Cut Straw, Pen Ink and Watercolours
Welsh, c.1880
Inscribed "Britanniar Tubular Bridge "Menai Bridge" Respectively

The Menai and Britannia Bridges are two notable bridges connecting Wales with the Isle of Anglesey.
The Menai suspension bridge was completed decades before the Britannia Bridge in 1826 and was the world's first major suspension bridge. The Britannia Bridge , designed and built by Robert Stephenson, is of a wrought iron tubular design, to carry trains rather than cars. The Menai Strait Bridges were marvels of engineering and important innovations to make the journey to Angelsey safer and faster.
