This model was based on F. Jukes' drawing of Robert Adam's design for the East Front of the Old College, University of Edinburgh.
Robert Adam, one of Britain’s most influential neoclassical architects, was commissioned to design the Old College of the University of Edinburgh in the late 18th Century. His design for the East Front, dating to 1791, is particularly notable for its grand neoclassical style, symmetry, and refined detailing.
The F. Jukes drawing of Adam’s design provides a valuable visual record of what was originally intended before later alterations. Today, Old College remains one of Edinburgh’s most distinguished architectural landmarks, housing the university’s School of Law and other departments.
